DESCRIPTION:The Adaptive Yoga program is accessible to all adults and considers all bodies and abilities\, especially those with injury\, disability\, limitations\, or who are elderly. \nWith Certified Yoga Instructor (specializing in adaptive yoga) Courtney Way\, participants will learn modified/multiple variations on traditional yoga poses\, allowing the poses to be adapted to specific needs and abilities. Class is based on the needs of the participants and will include music to de-stress and promote relaxation\, yoga/stretches to improve flexibility and build strength\, and movement/dance with breathing to improve concentration and coordination.

SUMMARY:Jory Kinjo/Lisa Jacobs - Community Concert
DESCRIPTION:Jory Kinjo and Lisa Jacobs are both multi-instrumentalists who majored in bass guitar in university and took varied paths in the music industry. \nWith a career spanning 20 years and 11 countries\, Jory has released 10 records\, performed on bills with a range of artists from BB King to Ziggy Marley to ZZ Top and co-owns the soul record label – Kimberlite Records. He was raised in R&B\, blues and soul music\, but his career has since touched on jazz\, reggae\, ska and even country music. He currently sits on the Calgary Folk Festival and Calgary Reggaefest board. \nPlaying her first blues festival at age 12\, Lisa has gone on to write\, record\, music direct\, perform and tour with a variety artists in multiple genres including Jory Kinjo\, Jocelyn Alice\, Jann Arden\, Johnny Reid\, Jill Barber\, Kyle McKearney\, Celeigh Cardinal\, Classic Albums Live and Hailey Benedict. She has a gold record (“Bound To You”)\, was awarded “Bassist of the Year” at the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA) in 2024 and sits on the board of the Western Canadian Music Alliance. Lisa also has her degree in music therapy and has worked in Strathmore with Project Hope and Hope Bridges for many years. \nIn addition to performing together\, Jory and Lisa created a youth music program at the National Music Center and both enjoy giving music workshops and contributing to the music community in Calgary.

DESCRIPTION:The Adaptive Yoga program is accessible to all adults and considers all bodies and abilities\, especially those with injury\, disability\, limitations\, or who are elderly. \nWith Certified Yoga Instructor (specializing in adaptive yoga) Courtney Way\, participants will learn modified/multiple variations on traditional yoga poses\, allowing the poses to be adapted to specific needs and abilities. Class is based on the needs of the participants and will include music to de-stress and promote relaxation\, yoga/stretches to improve flexibility and build strength\, and movement/dance with breathing to improve concentration and coordination.
